Today we promoted my eldest to 20” wheels and a proper ‘big girl bike’ - picked up a @trekbikesau Precaliber 20 to match my X-Caliber from the good folk down at @trekbicyclewoolloongabba (had to pick out a new @ridebontrager helmet and gloves as well to mark the occasion). . It’s a touch on the large side for her at the moment but she’ll grow into it in no time - and besides, after about 5 minutes of getting the measure of it she smashed out 3km as if it was nothing. Today’s findings: .

1. I really need to practice unclipping from the pedals when I hit obstacles (especially my left foot) .
2. The @goproanz Chesty mount is awesome, but I need to adjust the angle of the camera. .
3. I need to pick a new helmet - more specifically one with a visor. I might as well wear a blindfold when climbing up into the early morning sun. . Was a little more cautious out in the trails than usual - mainly because it was my first time in a long time clipping in while off-road - but also things were pretty sketchy after the rain earlier this week. Through a combination of the Instagram algorithm and Gmail’s spam settings I missed the fact that it was the @cycleofgiving today, so decided to do another self-directed 💯km ride this morning. . . Four laps of the @translinkqld Redcliffe Peninsula Line cycleway - a great rolling surface and more than a few hills means it was far from monotonous. Definitely adding this as a regular fixture to my riding.
