Whilst the 5am start on a Saturday morning was not fun, it was great to get out to Bunyaville early this morning to beat the heat. . Managed to get in early and nab one of the $20 entries to the @in_2_adventure Sunshine Coast MTB festival before they sold out. . I now have until the end of April to train for a 50km XC race around the Sunshine Coast Hinterland - hopefully this will be the first of many! (to be honest I just want to make sure I finish!)

Over the last couple of months I really got into tracking my activity using my Apple Watch - especially since I was limited with the amount of exercise I could do (basically, just walking the dogs). I’ve got to admit, after a while ‘closing my rings’ became something of an obsession - Apple has got this gamification thing down pat!

Happy to end out the year with my first perfect month - let’s see if I can keep it up in 2019!

Couldn’t resist getting one last ride in for 2018! . I was going to give it another couple weeks of relaxed road riding before hitting the trails, but after getting out on the mountain bike with kids this morning I was really hankering for a bit of dusty action! . First time riding both a hard-tail AND a 29er at Bunyaville, and man, that sure was a slice of fried fun! The @trekbikes X-Caliber 9 delivered the goods - great handling and climbed almost as fast as it descended! Back at the beginning of October, a few days before I last fell ill and landed myself back in hospital, I went on a bit of a spending spree and kitted myself out with a pair of @fizikofficial Tempo road shoes, M6 MTB shoes and a set of @shimanomtb Deore XT pedals for the 29er. Haven’t had a chance to christen them until now - took the road shoes out for a spin today and they are definitely the goods - well worth the wait! My first foray into the world of @boafitsystem -equipped shoes and I’m loving them.
